Here is a picture of a '73 Challenger that I bought from a lady down the road who thought she was buying a restored 440 Challenger for her nephew.  Not only is it a far cry from a restoration, but, it was far too much for the nephew who promptly lost it through a barbed wire fence (only after he spun a bearing and she spent a few more thousand on it).  When she took it in, the shop pointed out the "rigged" patch on the frame and the rusted out section that had not been patched.  They told her it was not safe, which it is not, but, did not tell her it was relatively easy to fix.  No need to comment on the TA 6 pack stickers on it.

I wanted a Mopar and got a pretty good deal on it (see my remarks below-it ain't seeming like such a good deal at the moment!).  Now, if I could just get in gear on the Camaro and get it out of the way, I might tackle this one next.

I also have a Vega station wagon that I think I bought to demonstrate how easily a fool may be separated from his money.  It would make a nice bracket car, tho'.

Here is a good use for an old relic....hook it up to another relic.  Sure makes it easy to sort out the timing and such.

Got fed up with the Camaro and started working on the Challenger.  Discovered that someone left the door open on it while it was in storage and a couple of rats took up residence in it.  Chewed up the wiring under the dash, in the headliner, and all the rear harness.  I also discovered that the wiring was all burned under the dash behind the ammeter, and that someone prior had rigged it sufficiently to run, but, most of the accessory wires were fried.

So far, I have fixed the majority of the under dash problems with only a little to do.  Rewired it under the hood completely and swapped the Mopar ecu for a GM HEI system which works very well with a Mopar distributor.  Gets rid of the ballast and greatly simplifies the wiring.  I have also replaced the rear harness and got all the lights, etc. working again.

Swapped the intake and carburetor, hoses etc under the hood and it runs better..but not like it should.  Some days, I could be convinced that the cam is off a tooth, but, I need to sort out the brakes and finish under the dash first before I sort out the engine any more...although that is more fun.

Hard to believe this car was being driven before I bought it.

So the car has no brakes....rear brakes have no fluid in the m/c and it is not making enough vacuum to run the booster.  Deciding to fix the immediate vacuum problem by going to manual brakes.  I change the m/c and then go to the back...leaking cylinder and the shoes are cracked badly...new cylinders and shoes, etc...then the drums will not go on....buy new drums because the old ones are oversized and warped, but, they don't go on either...figure out the parking brake cable is rusted in the applied position and  the prior owner had driven it that way....and so it goes.  Lines are all rusted and twisted when I try to unscrew the fittings...waiting on a new set of lines.
